JOUR 17
01 août 2006
Après une nuit
très chaude et humide avec pas un
brin d'air,
j'était debout à 6h45.
Je voulais me rendre au petit
café internet qui
ouvrait à 7h00
pour appeler Marc et lui envoyer
mes photos.
J'ai pas eu le temps de lui
envoyer toutes les
photos avant de
devoir partir pour faire des
commissions.
On a utilisé la
voiture de courtoisie de la
marina, on est
allé à ACE Hardware puis dans une
épicerie.
J'ai trouvé le
tour d'oublier quelques items,
dont des tomates.
Enfin... on mourra pas de faim
pour ça.
Au retour ce fut le lavage,
Ken est là dans le
moment pendant que je suis
retournée au café
internet pour finir d'envoyer
les photos à Marc. Et
j'en ai profité
pour appeler maman sur Skype. Elle
était bien
heureuse de me parler et moi aussi.
Ken veut quitter vers 15h00
cet après-midi, entre
deux
marées. Et on ira s'ancrer quelque part
ce
soir.
Bon, je reprend mon journal,
il est 20h00.
On a quitté
Beaufort à 14h30. Puis on a fait
18.6 milles avant d'arriver
à notre mouillage, dans
Cedar Creek. Il y a
de la place en masse, il
fait super beau.
Il y a un comptoir de
pêcheur juste à quelques
centaines de
mètres de notre mouillage. On s'est
dit qu'on irait en dinghy
pour s'acheter des
crevettes.
On a mis le dinghy à l'eau, on en a
profité pour
prendre quelques photos du voilier à
l'ancre, puis tout d'un coup,
un des morceaux où est
fixé les gugusses
pour les
rames s'est à
moitié décollé. On a donc
reviré
de bord et on est
revenus au voilier.
Pour souper ce fut donc des
linguinis aux
palourdes en cannes
! ;o)
C'était
quand même très bon.
Il faisait tellement chaud
vers 18h00, avant le
souper, qu'on s'est
versé des chaudières d'eau
pour se rafraichir.
On ose pas se baigner car on a
peur des alligators et aussi
l'eau est assez
jaunâtre.
Là on est au mille
187.7 de l'ICW.
Demain on veut se
rendre au mille 104. Alors on
va devoir se lever de bonne
heure. On veut aller
s'ancrer dans la
"Alligator River", à Tuckahoe
Point.
Là il est
20h15. Je vais en profiter pour lire
un peu avant le dodo.
À demain !
DAY 17 August 1st
After hot and humid night
with no wind at all I woke up at 645am.
I wanted to go to the
Internet Café that opens at 7am to call marc and send him my
recetn pictures.
I did not have enough time
to send all the pictures cause I had to go shopping for fodd.
We used the courtesy car
from the marina and we wnet to ACE Hardware and to a market. I managed to forgot few
items like the tomatoes. But we should not starve anyway.
back
to the boat we had to do laundry. Ken is doind some right now
while I
go back to the Internete café again to finish to send the
pictures. I
called my mom on Skyupe. First time since her PC was out for
repair. She was really glad to hear my voice. So
was I.
Ken wants to leave around
3pm between 2 tides. We will anchor somewhere tonight.
Back to my diary at 8pm.
We
left Beaufort at 230pm. We made 18.6 miles before to reach
the
anchoring in Cedar Creek. there is a lot of room and the
weather is
perfect.
The
is a fishermen stall only 100 meters from us. We decided to
use the
dinghy and go to buy some shrimps. We put the dinghy down in
the water
and take this opportunity to take some pictures of our boat at anchor.
But suddenly, one of the piece holding the oar ont hte dinghy
pull off
half way. We had no choice but turn around and back to the
boat.
Thus, for dinner we ad
pasta, linguinis, with tin clams!!! It was good anyway.
Before dinner, around 6pm,
it was so hot that we poored buckets of water on us to cool down. We are to afraid to swim
becasue of the alligatoras and the water is too brown to my taste.
Right now we are at mile
187.7 of the ICW. Tomorrow we want to
go to mile 104. Thus we must wake
up early. We want to anchor
in the Alligator River at Tuckahoe Point.
Now it is 915pm. I will read a little before
going to sleep.
See you tomorrow !
