Short visit to Bahrain, sailing and Book Club evening

Despite the state of emergency, the curfew and the demonstrations,
it looks like "business as usual" on the road leading to
what used to be the Pearl roundabout.

But when getting closer, we notice that the exit is closed.
An enormous tank is stationed at the entrance to the roundabout.
In no time, they demolished the Pearl and have completely remodeled the road.

After Michael bought himself a bicycle and we made
provision of the forbidden meat, here we are at the
Country Club, enjoying a good beer !
And a good meal, with a good Australian Shiraz-Cabernet wine !
The ribs were delicious !

On our way to the hotel, we pass by the twin towers of the Bahrain World Trade Center, with it's three gigantic wind turbines.

We can clearly see the demarcation between the clean
windows and those who are still dusty,
thanks to the recent sandstorm.

We have the roof terrace and pool for ourselves.
Michael broke the ice... hum... litterally for the water was ice cold !
But we all were brave enough to go for a dip !
