On déménage ! We're moving !
Après cinq ans et demi dans la même maison, elle commençait à avoir besoin d'un grand ménage.  Au lieu de cela nous avons préféré tenter notre chance à "bider" sur une nouvelle maison. Après plusieurs mois et bidages infructueux, la chance nous a souri le 10 janvier dernier. Nous quittons donc un jumelé à 4 maisons pour un charmant bungalow en forme de H. After five and a half years, the house we lived in needed a serious clean-up.  Instead, we prefered to bid on a new house and see what we could get. A couple of months and several unfruitful bids, we finally got lucky on January 10.  We are leaving a semi-detached house for a lovely H-shaped bungalow.

La cour arrière.  Aussi grande d'un côté.... The backyard.   As big on one side....	...que de l'autre. ...as the other.
La cuisine. Remarquez le "passe-assiette" au dessus du comptoir à gauche.  Il était deux fois moins grand.  On a relevé les armoires et on l'a agrandi.  C'est devenu un bar, et on y a ajouté des lumières LED. Marc va faire la finition en beau bois aussitôt que son atelier d'ébénisterie sera installé dans le garage. The kitchen. Notices the "pass-through" on top of the counter on the left.  It was twice smaller. We raised the cabinet and cut the hole bigger.  It's now a bar and we added some LED lights. Marc will do the finishing touches as soon as his woodworking shop will be set in the garage.

La plus grande pièce de la maison nous l'avons divisée en deux.  À gauche on voit la hauteur du plafond en pente dans le salon et un des deux puits de lumière.  Une des caractéristiques particulìères de cette maison c'est que la porte patio au salon fait face directement à une autre porte patio(qu'on ne voit pas sur la photo).  On peut donc voir "à travers" la maison de part en part. Et évidemment c'est très éclairé. À droite, photo prise le soir à partir du divan, on peut voir que nous avons séparé la pièce en deux par des bibliothèques.  The largest room of the house has been split in two. On the left we can see the height of the sloping ceiling and one of the two skylights. One of the main features of this house is that the living room patio door faces directly another patio door, so we can literally see through the house from one side to the other.  And of course it's really bright.  On the right hand side, photo taken in the evening from the couch, you can notice that we split the room in two with some bookshelves.
De l'autre côté de la bibliothèque (dont nous avons tenté de cacher le dos tant bien que mal)... c'est le bureau. On the other side of the bookshelves (we tried to hide the back of the shelves with more or less success)... it's the office.	Autre vue du bureau. La porte à droite donne sur la salle à manger. Un petit trou dans les arbres nous permet de voir le coucher de soleil de notre salon. A small hole in the trees allows us to see the sunset from our living room.	Le patio est super grand.  La porte patio de gauche donne sur la salle à manger. Celle de droite, sur le salon, où il y en a une autre vis-à-vis qui donne sur la rue en avant. The patio is huge. The patio door on the left opens in the dining room, as the one on the right is the living room's, where there's another one just across that opens to the street.
Dans le carré du milieu formant le H, ma plate-bande de cactus et d'agaves dont la plupart furent transplantés depuis notre ancienne maison. In the middle square of the H shape of the house is my cactus and agave garden. Most of them have been transplanted from the previous house.
