The launch of Sindbad ! April 22, 2010
Les conditions météos n'étaient pas parfaites, il y avait un bon vent et de la vague, mais disons que c'était acceptable.
C'était une journée de courses de voiles, donc le matin nous avons couru sur Chérie Has 2, en compagnie de nos amis
Michael Cooney et Bob French, le nouveau capitaine de la flottille (Marc n'a pas sollicité un 2e mandat).
Puis, après le diner, on s'est préparés à lancer Sindbad pour la 2e course....
It's on Thursday, April 22 2010 that we were at last ready to launch Sindbad, our Weekender.
The weather conditions were not perfect, there was a good wind and some waves, but let's say that it was acceptable.
It was one of our racing days, so in the morning we raced on Chérie Has 2 with our good friends Michael Cooney and
Bob French, the new fleet captain. (Marc did not solllicitate a second mandate).
Then, after lunch, we prepared Sindbad for the second race....
She's all wrapped and ready to go to the beach.
Here we are, in early afternoon and Marc hoisted the mainsail.
Behind Sindbad, Karl Kleemeir who's repairing his main halyard which broke this morning.
Our friends look really impressed... ;O)
Everything is set, we are going to the boat ramp.
Marc puts a mooring line.
He has to put the mainsail down because the wind picked up.
It's Lise who's backing the trailer.
And Sindbad is going to touch water in a few seconds.
Voilà ! She seems not to be sinking... ;O)
Marc is really happy !
Now, let's hoist the mainsail again.
While Marc is pulling the throat halyard, Lise is pulling the peak halyard.
Et maintenant
nous sommes fins prêts à larguer les amarres !
