Garage Sale and Petanque Tournament
May 6, 2004
May 6th 2004 was a very busy day. We were up at 4:30 in the morning to prepare our garage sale that was due to start at 6:00. The first "clients" arrived a 5:30 ... And at 1:00 was the start of the SNAKE-CUP 2004 , 2nd edition of the petanque tournament that is held in the back of our friends house, John and Pam Snakenberg. Tournament that lasted so late, it was dark for a long time when the winners got their trophies at 11:00 PM !!

The teams were drawn and here is Lise with her petanque partner, Brian, listening carefully to Marc's explanation, because it was Brian's first experience with this game...
And the coincidence makes us play our first round against Marc and Mickey.

On my right is Gilles a french guy from Marseilles and very good at shooting.
Unfortunately he did not make it to the final.

Helen (anglaise) c'est la blonde d'un français, elle joue très bien, et Dennis (américain) est marié à une française, est prof de français et a une allée de pétanque dans sa cour !

Helen (British) is the girlfriend of a french guy, she is playing well, and Dennis (American) is married to a french lady, he's a french teacher, and has a petanque alley in his backyard

Je ne sais pas où Richard a commencé à jouer mais il est pas pire du tout, et Lisa pense maintenant à établir une allée de pétanque dans la cour de sa nouvelle maison.

I don't know where Richard learned to play but he's real good. And Lisa is now thinking of building a petanque alley in the backyard of her new house.

Pour un gars qui s'est levé à 4h30 du matin, Marc fut égal à lui même comme meilleur tireur, alors que Mickey va peut-être délaisser un peu sa Harley au profit de la boule ?
