La saga a débuté en juillet 2006, lorsque Marc a acheté les plans d'un petit voilier.  Il voulalit se "faire la main" à la construction navale.  C'est avec l'aide de son bon ami Arch Elving qu'il a débuté la construction de ce petit gréement aurique. Mais, à ce moment-là, il ne savait pas que quelques mois plus tard, il achèterait un vieux Meridian 25, 1964 qu'il aurait à restaurer entièrement.  Donc, le Weekender fut mis de côté pendant la restauration de Chérie Has 2, et ce n'est qu'en Novembre 2008 que le Weekender fut ramené dans le garage pour en achever la construction.  Voici donc la suite... To give you the whole picture, you have to have a look at theses pages of the website: the beginning of the Weekender construction. The saga started in July 2006, when Marc bought the plans of a small sailboat.  He wanted to practice boatbuilding. It was with the help of his good friend Arch Elving that he started the building of this small gaff-rigged boat.   But at the time, he didn't know that a few months later, he would buy a 1964 Meridian 25 that he would have to restore completely.  So, the Weekender has been put aside during the restoration of Chérie Has 2, and it was only in November 2008 that she came back to the garage for achievement. Il s'est attaqué à la barre à roue, pas une mince tâche. He started fabricating the steering wheel, not that easy.
Tous les morceaux du casse-tête mis ensemble, ça ressemble bien à une roue. All the puzzle pieces put together, it looks like a wheel.
Entre décembre 2008 et novembre 2009, Marc a fabriqué toutes sortes de morceaux et les a vernis. On dirait bien que la caméra était restée au placard... Between December 2008 and November 2009, Marc fabricated all sorts of parts and varnished them. It looks like the camera remained on the shelf...

Encouragé par Lise qui lui montre combien ce sera plaisant, la motivation revient. Supported by Lise who's showing him how fun it will be, motivation is back.
Gratte ici, sable un peu là, mesure et coupe, le bateau prend forme. Scrape here, sand a bit there, measure and cut, the boat is taking shape.

C'est un grand jour !  On vire la coque de bord pour la finition.  Arch est venu donner un coup de main. It's a memorable day !  We turn the boat over to finish the hull.  Arch came over to give us a hand.
Marc a déjà le papier sablé entre les mains, prêt à commencer le travail sur la coque. Marc, already holding the sandpaper in his hands, is ready to start working on the hull.
	Est-ce le trident de Neptune ?  Ben non, il lui manque une dent. C'est la corne du gréement aurique, à laquelle sera attachée le haut de la grand-voile. Is that Neptune's trident ?  Nope ! There's a tooth missing. It's the gaff that will hold the top of the mainsail.
