De retour de vacances au mois d'août, nous poursuivons les travaux
Back from vacation in August, we resume our work

Sheriaz tel que Marc l'a laissé avant de partir en vacances.
Sheriaz as Marc left her before going on vacation.

Au retour de vacances, la couche de fond était donnée.
Back from vacation, the primer coat was done.

Notre peintre Morali est fier de nous montrer son travail.
Our painter, Morali is proud to show us his work.

Encore quelques retouches à faire, puis ce sera la peinture finale.
Still some touch up then it's gonna be the final paint.

L'intérieur de la quille fut repeint.
The inside of the keel has been repainted.

Ainsi que l'intérieur des coffres du cockpit.
As well as the inside of the cockpit lockers.

Pendant ce temps, Marc a repeint l'intérieur complet du bateau.
In the meantime Marc repainted the inside of the whole boat.

Puis nous nous attaquons au mât.
Ici, Lise met du WD40 sur toutes les vis et boulons le long du mât pour ensuite pouvoir les enlever facilement.
Then we start with the mast.
Here, Lise is spraying WD40 on all the screws and bolts along the mast in order to take them off easily.

Puis on identifie et enlève tous les haubans, l'étai, et le pataras.
Then we identify and remove all the shrouds and stays.

Les vis les plus difficiles à enlever furent confiées à Marc.
Marc is taking off the screws that are very hard to loosen.

Puis durant la semaine Morali a fait la peinture du deck.
Then during the week Morali painted the deck.

Ce morceau est ce qui bouche le puits de moteur,
on peut voir le trou à l'arrière du bateau.
This piece is what blocks the engine well,
we can see the "hole" at the stern of the boat.

Nous avions rendez-vous avec Morali jeudi midi le 23 août, alors qu'il devait faire la peinture de la coque.
Nous voulions prendre des photos pendant le travail.
Malheureusement il n'a pas pu commencer assez tôt et il nous aurait fallu retourner à Dammam plus tard dans la journée.
Nous avions un autre rendez-vous en après-midi que nous ne voulions pas manquer....
Morali was supposed to paint the topsides at noon on Thursday, August 23rd.
We wanted to take pictures while he was doing it.
Unfortunately, he couldn't start early enough and we would have had to go back to Dammam later in the afternoon.
We had another "rendez-vous" for the afternoon that we didn't want to miss...

Après un bel après-midi de voile sur If, nous nous sommes "beachés"près de la grosse dune ...
After a nice afternoon sailing IF,
we beached the boat by the big dune...

Et nous nous sommes baignés en prenant un "ti-punch" !
And we went bathing while having a "ti-punch" !

Vendredi matin à 7h00, voici ce que Marc voit en entrant dans le hangar !
Oui, Sheriaz a changé de couleur !
Friday morning at 7:00, that's what Marc sees when he got in the shed !
Yes, Sheriaz changed color !

Là, Marc et Morali ont fait la peinture "anti-glissante" du deck.
Cela consiste en une couche de peinture au rouleau, puis saupoudrage de sable mélangé à de la poudre de fibre de verre.
There, Marc and Morali put the "anti-skid" paint on the deck.
It consist of one coat of paint with the roller, then sprinkling a mix of sand and fiberglass powder.

Voici le résultat.

Voilà ! Tout le haut est terminé. Lundi prochain ils vont s'attaquer à la quille.
Voilà ! The top of the boat is done. This coming Monday, they will start working on the keel.

Il faudra remplir les cloques avec de l'époxy mélangée à une poudre de silice,
puis ensuite donner trois couches d'époxy mélangé à une poudre d'aluminium.
La fin de semaine prochaine, nous devrions pouvoir ramener le bateau à la maison pour le rhabiller. :o)
We shall fill the blisters with some epoxy mixed with silica powder,
then give three coats of epoxy mixed with aluminium powder.
Next week-end we should be able to bring the boat back home to dress her again with all her parts. :o)
