Visite du sous-marin Onondaga à Pointe-au-Père L’ONONDAGA est le sous-marin canadien à avoir eu la plus longue carrière active de l’histoire de la Marine canadienne; il a été en service pendant 33 ans. Il a parcouru en tout plus de 500 000 milles nautiques, soit l’équivalent de 23 fois le tour de la Terre, dont la moitié environ ont été parcourus sous la surface. Il a visité plus de 53 ports dans 12 pays différents et a été sous la gouverne de plus de 25 commandants au long de sa carrière. Une très grande partie de cette carrière s’est déroulée sous les auspices de l’OTAN (Organisation du Traité de l'Atlantique Nord). July 28. Visiting the Onondaga submarine in Pointe-au-Père The ONONDAGA is the Canadian submarine with the longest active career in the history of the Canadian Navy. It was in service for 33 years. It travelled more than 500,000 nautical miles be that more than 23 times around the world. About half the distance covered was underwater. It visited more than 53 ports in 12 different countries and was under the command of more than 25 commanders during its long career. A major part of this career was under the patronage of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).
